Education in the United States vs The World

I have lived in the United States my entire life, so the only school I have done, has also been in this country. However, I have learned about the type of schooling in other countries, especially Japan, China and South Korea. The level of dedication, and expectation levels are far greater than here, in the United States.

When I did my schooling, there was no emphasis on learning another language. This is why so many Americans cannot speak a second language or have the discipline to learn, because they were not taught at a young age of its importance. It was not until my 10th year of High School that I finally had to learn a different language for school.

Schooling in America is also separated into two categories, Public and Private schools. Public school is free, and Private school is paid for. Growing up, I went to both, and felt I learned more in the free, Public school than the school which my parents paid for. Private school is also much stricter, and required uniforms, while I was in public school, I could wear anything. It was a more relaxing environment to me and I feel that was a reason I learned more.
